Why the pending screen lags behind
The swap site works as an intermediary. It shows you a deposit address, you send your coins there, and then the site forwards the new token to your receiving address. Between those two steps, the site must wait for blockchain confirmations, process the exchange, and broadcast the second transaction. The pending screen is the site's front-end waiting for its own backend to report progress. That backend can be slow, especially during network congestion.
What to check instead
Every blockchain has a public explorer. You can look up your transaction using the transaction ID (TXID) that the swap site assigns when you send your deposit. Copy that TXID and paste it into a block explorer for the blockchain you sent from (for example, if you sent Bitcoin, use a Bitcoin block explorer). If the explorer shows the transaction as confirmed with multiple confirmations, your deposit reached the swap site. The site then owes you the new token.
Next, check the block explorer for the destination blockchain. Look up your receiving address there. If the new tokens appear in that address, the swap is complete. The pending screen on the swap site may still show "pending" because the site's own status checker has not polled the blockchain again, or because its cache is stale.
What if the tokens are not there yet
If the deposit transaction is confirmed on the source blockchain but the new tokens are not visible on the destination blockchain, the swap site is still processing. This is normal. The site needs to find a counterparty or execute the trade on a decentralized exchange, then send the result. Wait, then check again. Most swaps complete within minutes, but some can take longer if the network is busy or if the swap involves a less liquid token.
When to take action
If the deposit transaction is confirmed and hours pass with no tokens appearing, contact the swap site's support. Provide the TXID and your receiving address. Do not rely on the pending screen as evidence that something is wrong. The pending screen is a user interface element, not a transaction record.
